Our first time trying this. We will be on the busiest street corner in town – beside our church fence at the busiest time of the morning. We plan to offer ashes and pray with anyone who stops and/or do some explanation and teaching about Ash Wednesday. This follows on several years of many of us being told in grocery stores or other public places on Ash Wednesday “Your face is dirty!” When we explain, we often hear something like “Oh ya, is that today? What is that all about anyway?” or “I used to do that years ago. Wish I had time for it now.”
Should be an interesting (and frigid) experience!
